Abid Talic

Abid Talić is the founder and President of the Bosnian Herzegovinians Association of Iowa. He is a financial services executive and community leader with over two decades of experience in banking, hospitality, and community development. He currently serves as Vice President and Market Expansion Branch Manager at JPMorgan Chase & Co., leading strategic growth, community engagement, and customer experience initiatives. Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he completed his early education there before earning a degree in Management from Upper Iowa University and completing postgraduate studies in Executive Development and Public Administration at Drake University. He is married and the father of two children. Prior to his career in financial services, he held senior leadership roles in the hospitality industry with Marriott International, serving as General Manager and Complex General Manager for multiple hotel properties in Iowa. During his tenure, he received the prestigious J.W. Marriott Award of Excellence for outstanding leadership and operational performance. Talić has been actively engaged in civic and nonprofit leadership, serving on multiple boards and advisory committees including the Iowa Lodging Association, the Iowa Immigrant Entrepreneurial Summit, and the Diversity Committee of the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Throughout his career, Talic has been recognized for his contributions to community leadership and immigrant entrepreneurship, including the Governor’s Corporate Volunteer Award presented by Terry Brandstad, former governor of Iowa. Through his leadership, he has supported immigrant entrepreneurship, community development, and cultural connection, especially for the Bosnian community. As Board President of the association, Talic is dedicated to strengthening community leadership, promoting cultural heritage, and fostering partnerships that support economic opportunity, education, and civic participation.
